Dressing elegantly, no matter the occasion is always guaranteed to look amazing. Unfortunately, many of us feel that we don’t have the time to really put in that effort. It is always easier to just throw something together without thinking and then go about your day. However, elegance is described as ‘the quality of being graceful and stylish in appearance or manner,’ which basically means that you don’t have to spend 2 hours each day getting ready. In fact there are easy ways to appear elegant in time efficient ways, five of which that I will share in today’s post.

Wear sleek hairstyles

My personal favourite to achieve an elegant look is wearing a low bun. All you need to do is part your hair with a comb and then comb your hair into a low pony tail. Comb any fly aways if you aren’t satisfied with the smoothness. Twist your hair into a bun and hairspray it to keep in in place all day.

Wear classic colours 

There isn’t a colour more classic or elegant than black and even simple black items can make any ensemble look ten times more elegant. Colours similar to black like grey and navy also have a similar effect and when paired with lighter contrasting colours they also contribute to an elegant look.

Embrace minimalism

Dressing elegantly is a fundamentally minimalistic endeavour. You don’t need to be over the top with masses of jewellery or fussy tops with frivolous frills. If you look at some of the most elegant women in history such as Audrey Hepburn and Coco Chanel, they never went over the top with their fashion and always looked incredible.

Don’t overdo the accessories

The best elegant ensembles always feature simple accessories that bring the entire outfit together. For the elegant person with limited time, it is best to keep it simple with either silver, gold or even pearls, which can come in the forms of a small silver pendant necklace, a simple bracelet or jewelled drop earrings.

When it comes to make up, keep things minimal

One of the most important aspects about dressing elegantly is not having anyone element of your outfit stand out. Everything should come together seamlessly and one of the best ways of achieving this is completing your make up so it looks as natural as possible. Don’t be too dramatic with the eyeliner and use a lip colour that is very similar to your natural colour.

These simple and easy tips demonstrate that it isn’t rocket science to look elegant. Indeed, dressing elegantly can be one of the most time efficient ways of looking fabulous.
